Development of an Older Persons Strategy

2005: Development of an Older Persons Strategy for Porirua City Council.  This work was informed by drawing on the experiences of several other New Zealand local authorities and was carried out under the guidance of an Older Persons Advisory Group.

Public Forum to raise awareness of city-wide issues

2005: Organised a series of public forums designed to raise awareness of city-wide issues as a precursor to the development of community plans and the review of the city's LTCCP.  The task involved preparing topic outlines, designing the formats for each forum, briefing presenters on their topics, and compiling material from the series into community resource kits.

Porirua City Council

2003: Designed, co-ordinated and facilitated a six-week city-wide consultation programme for Porirua City Council in preparation for the review of the Annual Plan and the Long Term Financial Strategy.  This included focus groups for specific sectors of the population as well as a community workshop in which participants were divided into five topic-specific groups each with a trained facilitator and note-taker.
