Who We Are
Corydon Consultants Ltd is owned and managed by Dianne Buchan. She works in collaboration with a wide range of individual consultants and specialist companies to provide the range of skills needed for particular projects. We have formalised our association with
one group of consultants to form PLaCE Consultants.
We have worked throughout New Zealand and the Pacific. Collectively, we
possess a wide diversity of knowledge, skills and experience, which enables
us to provide good quality analysis.
Dianne Buchan
Dianne has a BA in Sociology, a Masters of Public
Policy, and is a full member of the NZ Planning Institute and the Environmental Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ). She is a certified RMA Commissioner and a certified environment practitioner (CEnvP), and is the only
specialist in social impact assessment in NZ and Australia to be certified. She is also a member of the International Association of Impact Assessment. She has worked
in both local and central government for 15 years and has been a private
consultant since 1988. As a consultant, Dianne has specialised in the
fields of social research, social impact assessment, community consultation and facilitation, and has managed a wide variety of projects
involving multidisciplinary teams. Dianne has worked throughout New Zealand
and the Pacific and so has extensive experience in consulting and working
with Maori and Pacific Islands cultures (both Polynesian and Melanesian).

Kirsty Austin
Kirsty has a Bachelor of Science (Geology) from the University of Canterbury and a Master of Regional and Resource Planning (distinction) from Otago University. She is a Strategic Planner, with over ten years public and private sector experience in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Kirsty has a wide range of resource management planning experience with a particular focus on strategic planning. Most projects have centred on urban renewal and growth issues. She is a member of the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) and the Environmental Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ).

Chris Cosslett
Chris has a Master (Applied) in Environmental Studies, and a Bachelor of Parks and Recreation. He has spent 8 years as a researcher and analyst at Corydon up until 2004. While with Corydon he concentrated mainly on research and policy analysis for local and central government (in New Zealand and the Pacific), Crown Research Institutes and private sector clients. He is particularly skilled at designing surveys, conducting surveys and interviews, and in data analysis. His particular areas of interest are outdoor recreation and natural resource management. Since 2004 Chris has worked with Corydon and PA Handford & Associates on individual projects and also works part time for the Department of Conservation.
Anne Phiri

Anne immigrated to New Zealand from Zimbabwe in early 2001 and was quickly able to use her strong personal assistant background to support senior managers in central government and the private sector. Prior to coming to New Zealand Anne worked as a Personal Assistant/Executive Secretary with a large import and export company where she supported a busy HR Director and Finance Director. Other experience included an Executive Secretarial role working for two Sales Directors based within a multinational motor company.
